Getting fitted for a Pure Power Mouthguard is actually a very pleasant easy experience. The whole purpose of the apparatus is to relax your muscles.

Most of the wires you see in the photo are for the EMG sensors. The computer shows us how relaxed the face muscles are at various jaw positions.

We use the jaw tracking device ( the large white frame around the head ) to locate the best jaw position, where the muscles are most relaxed and the everything is centered for best athletic performance. We then use the green bite material ( that is what Manny has in his mouth ) to make a dental impression of this ideal position. A “muscle test” of the optimal bite immediately reveals the strength, balance and flexibility gains.

The whole process takes about 90 minutes to complete. The impressions and “tested ideal bite” are sent to the lab to make the PPM / Edge. It takes about two weeks to make. The finished product can be mailed directly to you, or it can be picked up at our office. You are always welcome to come back to your NJ dentist for any adjustments, which are rarely needed.
